Cape Chamomile essential oil is native to South Africa. This somewhat rare aromatic has impressive therapeutic properties, and a beautiful aroma to go with them.

The oil's blue color instantly reveals the presence of chamulzine compounds, the same that are found in German Chamomile as well as Blue Tansy. This makes it an excellent ingredient in any formulation to reduce irritation or swelling of the skin.

Its lovely, fruity and floral aroma offers the calming aspects of other Chamomile oils. It is likely that the aroma will be actually more widely appreciated than either of the other classic Chamomiles.

Use at 1 to 3% concentration in your skin care preparations (the oil can be used "neat" if necessary). The oil will also do nicely in a diffuser simply by itself, with either of the other chamomiles, or with complementary aromas such as Lavender and Ylang Ylang.

Uses:

Apply topically or diffuse. Rub into the solar plexus to relieve tension or into the abdomen to relieve stomach complaints. Cape Chamomile is exceptionally safe.

Chamomile essential oils have traditionally been used for: calming, anti-spasmodic, anti-inflammatory, anti-parasitic, skin regeneration.

May offer support for these conditions: anxiousness, irritability, nervousness and stress. Also anti-infectious for scrapes and cuts.

Cautions:

Always test a small amount first for sensitivity or allergic reaction. One of the safest and most gentle oils used in aromatherapy. Safe for use on children.
