Tangerine Essential Oil is cold pressed from the fruit of the tangerine tree. The plant originated in China, and brought to Europe in 1805, then to North America where much of the world's Tangerine essential oil is produced. This wonderfully sweet, fresh and citrusy top-note essential oil is thought to promote happiness, and help with nervousness and anxiety. For support of the nervous system, use in a diffuser or oil warmer to surround yourself with the aroma. The aroma is very popular with children, and can have the same relaxing effect as for adults. Tangerine essential oil is also thought to help the digestive system, reducing flatulence - possibly related to its anti-anxiety effects. To support the digestive system, dilute around 3% in the carrier oil of your choice, and rub the oil into the stomach region in a clockwise direction. In addition, tangerine can be beneficial to the skin, thought to help stretch marks and have a positive effect on cellulite. This effect of tangerine essential oil may take some time and patience! Again, dilute in a carrier oil and apply to the skin. Repeat daily for a period of weeks to months. Like other citrus oils, tangerine may be photosenstizing, and should not be applied to skin that will be exposed to direct sunlight.
Suggested Use:	Diffuse or apply topically; can be taken internally - dilute in water.
Possible Actions:	Traditionally has been used for improving mood, reducing tension and skin care.
Possible Indications:	Can be supportive in cases of anxiety and nervousness. May help improve appearance of stretch marks and cellulite.
Cautions:	Tangerine oil is non-toxic, though it may be photo-sensitizing, and should not be applied to skin that will be exposed to direct sunlight or UV light within 72 hours.
