Making you own aromatherapy soaps and shampoos: First, choose your unscented liquid soap base. The organic Aloe Castile is an all purpose, get-yourself-clean soap. It doesn't include a thickener, (as the Hi-Olive does) so it's suitable for foaming-style bottles, and really any washing use you want to put it to. The Hi-Olive is thicker, and more gentle, for sensitive skin of any age. You can use both as a shampoo -- if you'd like to make a bath "gel" with the Aloe Castile, just find a lite "guar gum" at the local health food store. (Though it almost sounds scary, "guar gum' is a dry powder ground from de-husked guar beans).
Or, if you don't want a "gel", but you do want a moisturizing soap, add a maybe 1ml per ounce a carrier oil to the soap base. Be sure in these cases to make a small bottle first and test it -- you'll be able to make the perfect smelling, moisturizing, therapeutic soap or shampoo for yourself.
Then choose your essential oils based on your cleaning intention and aromatic desires. Simply add anywhere between 30 and 60 drops of essential oil per 8 ounces of base, mix well and wash! You can create some very therapeutic formulas, with real skin-care in mind, just as if you were creating a skin-care oil blend. A little Rosehip, Sea Buckthorn and Chamomile essential oils in the Hi-Olive base, and you're treating your skin with exceptional healing qualities.
Need to keep germs at bay? Use our Super Immune or PuriFy essential oil blends with the Aloe Castile, and the foaming sink-side bottle (or travel-size foaming one too!). Or blend your own with the scents and properties you desire. Imagine Lemon Tea Tree and Blue Gum Eucalyptus scenting your home as you clean.
