 Phonophoresis with essential oils
Hi, Just wanted to share this...have just recently started ultrasound therapy on one of my horses. This is a severe case, tissue damage resulting from founder. There were tears sustained in both flexor tendons as well as the suspensor ligament about 4 years ago so obviously some amount of scar tissue exists which is causing a contracted state. I started out using Helichrysum neat for several days on the areas and then once I got the US device (and due to the cost of the oil!) I began putting a few drops into the US gel, which is a technique known as phonophoresis. Only started a few days ago but am already seeing some results! Time will tell just how effective this might be in reducing the amount of scar tissue. She really enjoys this therapy.
