Post Diffusing w/water
I found a diffusing recipe mixing the EOs with water then adding it to diffuser? Is this normal? Maybe that method is for a nebulizer kind? I'm VERY new to all of this if you couldn't already tell:)

Hi...this completely depends on the diffuser. Many 'nebulizing' diffusers have one fill a reservoir with water first, then add a few drops of essential oil to float on the top. This is great when you just want to utilize the 'aroma' aspect of essential oils.

Other diffusers use the essential oils alone, completely undiluted - examples are our wood-base nebulizing essential oil diffusers. These output a controllable pure mist of the essential oil itself - so IF you're wanting to use the diffuser to output a 'therapeutic' concentration of oil, these are the way to go.

So, are you saying that the water diffusing is less effective than say the wood burners? Are there no therapeutic values in using the water diffusers?

Thanks for your response.

Hi - 'less effective' in only one sense. The aromas themselves have proven effects - altering relaxation, concentration, etc. and in these cases, the water/ultrasonics are great.

IF one is, for example - as we do - wanting to inhale a good amount of the oil for health support (as we may do with Super Immune when something is 'going around'), it's really only possible with a nebulizing diffuser which does not use water, just oil. Note that these are not 'burners', but use only just air to create a mist of the essential oil.

Hope this helps!
