Post Can you use too many essential oils?
Is it possible to use too many essential oils that may react with each other? For example: a blend for your face, then something for your adrenals, then ones for sinus, maybe one for pain. That would be 4 different one with tons of different essential oils to use in one day. Any thoughts on this?

It's not that that one need to be careful with using too many different oils
- they don't have contraindications with each other...they wouldn't cancel each other out for example, or cause adverse reactions because of the number of oils.

However, it's possible one could use too much overall
-- it's really not likely, if you're using a skin care blend, and something on an injury or painful spot for relief and healing, etc...but the total amount of oil absorbed by the body may cause a reaction for some folks. It's also likely you're body will tell you -- you'll find you don't want anymore, like eating a big, rich meal and not wanting any more food. Listen to your body, and your intuition, and if it says "lay off" for a while on a particular oil, do so...

In the store, we're breathing something like 100 oils all the time, and no one has ever found it unpleasant; we end up not being able to sense them as strongly because we're smelling them all the time, but there's no unpleasant sensation, or need to get away from them in any way.

Hope this helps! :)

For aromatherapy there is a possibility of using too many at one time so that the receptors on your cells become overlaoded. It doesn't cause any danger I don't believe it just makes it so the the essentials are wasted when they have no receptor to attach to because without the receptor to attach to the molecule can not become active.

I think it’s also important to find a balance.

To me, using too many different kinds of EO causes me a headache and it somehow, it influences on my nose (sneezing all the time)
So I just can use 1 type at a time. :(
