About the Oil: This Coconut Jojoba cream base is the most magnificent organic cream base we've experienced. It has a luxurious feel and excellent absorption. With no aroma of its own, this base is perfect for making your own aromatherapy lotions and creams. It contains only organic Jojoba oil, organic virgin Coconut oil, purified water, Grape Seed extract and a small amount of plant‑based emulsifying wax. Coconut oil is incredible, but can be challenging to work with. The addition of Jojoba oil not only lends its therapeutic properties but helps create a creamy texture that surpasses other carrier oil blends. Coconut oil, despite its familiarity, is one of the most therapeutic carrier oils available. It is an exquisite skin food offering superior hydrating and purifying qualities. In fact, Coconut oil effectively removes dirt, debris and makeup from the skin making it an excellent facial cleanser. It has an incredible balance of natural saturated fatty acids not found in other oils and promotes healthy skin for nearly every skin condition. It is very mild and generally safe for people with inflamed, irritated and sensitive skin.
About the Oil: Certified organic, cold‑pressed, unrefined Jojoba oil is considered a premium carrier oil due to its high stability and lightweight texture and is also ideal as a carrier for natural perfumes. Jojoba oil is a universal skin moisturizer, ideal for all skin types with great healing and penetrating properties. Due to its fatty acid profile it closely resembles our skin's own sebum. It also makes a great cleanser for skin, hair, and scalp because it helps remove excess oils.
ABOUT THE PLANTS
Coconut, Cocos nucifera, the largest known seed, is the fruit of the coconut palm tree. The term 'coconut' can refer to the whole coconut palm or the seed, or the fruit, which, botanically, is a drupe, not a nut.
Jojoba (pronounced Ho-ho-ba) oil is technically a liquid wax ester extracted from the seeds of Si-mondsia chinensis, a desert shrub that can survive hundreds of years at temperatures as high as 122 degrees and grows in the dry, arid regions of southwestern United States.
ABOUT THE OILS
Below 76 degrees Coconut oil is the consistency of butter, but above that it becomes a clear liq-uid. For this reason it is best blended with other carrier oils.
It's high lauric acid content lends a smooth texture to body butters, soaps and salves.
It is tolerant of high heat and therefore ideal for cooking.
Coconut oil is resistant to rancidity which gives it a long shelf life.
Because Jojoba is actually a liquid plant wax and not a typical vegetable oil, it has molecular qual-ities and is not likely to deteriorate. This gives Jojoba oil superior shelf stability to any other carrier oils. A small amount (10%) added to blends can extend their shelf life.
As with all carrier oils, keep your bottle out of direct sunlight and heat.
