Kennel cough

Post by Chigirl40 » Wed Apr 23, 2014 6:59 pm

Any essential oils for kennel cough? How much would be good for a 56 pound dog? I'm thinking of using lavender, tea tree, Eucalyptus, or benchmark thyme. I just not sure how much to use. Al the vets want to do is prescribe antibiotics which I'd rather avoid.

Thanks.

Well, I did some research and ended up mixing 1/2 tsp of raw Manuka honey and with a drop of spike lavender. My dog took one sniff of the lavender and turned his head. So. I next put the honey/ lavender mix between 2 chicken treats and he ate it up! Slept like a rock that night too! His coughing stopping after that. It came back the next night so I repeated the honey/ spike lavender again. So far no coughing. Pretty amazing! Just wanted to share my story.
