Description

ABOUT THE PLANT

The root of this tropical perennial plant is tuberous, much like Ginger, with long, white, fleshy fibers, and jointed appendages.

ABOUT THE OIL

Plai oil has a wonderful, uplifting peppery-green eucalyptus aroma, and is highly regarded for its therapeutic properties in massage. We've found this wildcrafted variety to be especially bright and fresh; a very fine distillation to be sure!

Although Plai is from the same family as Ginger, it's actions are considered more potent. Plai also has very high levels of terpinine-4ol (generally between 25-45 %), the constituent in Tea Tree considered to give the oil most of its antimicrobial properties. A potent combination of oils with a high concentration of; this constituent is: Plai with Tea Tree and Sweet Marjoram.
