Simply Vanilla Blend

Country of Origin:
Madagascar
Plant Part:
Beans
Latin Name:
Vanilla planifolia
Cultivation:
Naturally Grown

This Vanilla essential oil has a dense, gentle, rich, creamy, balanced, classic 'vanilla bean' aroma with a slightly spiced undertone. So we concentrated this oil down and added it gently to MCT (fractionated coconut oil) because MCT has no aroma! The result is simply Vanilla.

Vanilla essential oil is typically added in small amounts to 'round out' aromas, bringing a balance and smoothness to natural perfumes and aromatic creations.

Vanilla oil blends well with: Sandalwood, Vetiver, Balsam and other spice oils.

Description

ABOUT THE PLANT

Known as 'bourbon', Mexican, and Reunion Vanilla, this perennial climbing vine of the Orchid family can reach up to 25 meters in height and produces both white, trumpeted flowers and green pods (also called beans). A native species to Mexico and Central America, the pods are typically cultivated in Madagascar and Mexico then shipped to Europe or the United States for curing. Curing the pods entails first fermentation then drying; it is this process that enables the fragrance known as true Vanilla to emerge.

ABOUT THE OIL

Vanilla means memories of childhood with the intensity of seemingly everlasting moments of joy. This vanilla 'bourbon' type has a dense and exotic sweetness in the aroma, with a hint of spicy background notes. Thanks to its dominating phenyl esters and other enticing compounds Vanilla is a feast for the nose and palate. In its natural form it may be a tasty enrichment of many deserts, especially those that contain milk or yogurt. (We do in-fact add a few drops to many desert and smoothie creations.) Vanilla is a very flexible aromatic, easily blended and widely enjoyed. The only thing one needs to be careful of is using too much–usually, just a few drops will do!

NOTE: Low-priced Vanilla is most often a solvent extract or a synthetic aromatic while falsely labeled as an 'essential oil'.
