This is true Ravensara essential oil, certified organically grown in Madagascar. Ravensara is a strong antiviral oil which has been used to support healing from influenza, and is also an excellent nerve tonic. Ravensara is an all around great aromatherapeutic essential oil. The aroma is warm, and not dissimilar to Eucalyptus Radiata, but with a hint of spice.

It may be used in treatment of respiratory conditions - Ravensara oil is said to work effectively against acute cases of the flu, both through its anti-viral effects and its uplifting of mood and energy levels. Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt in Advanced Aromatherapy states: 'For the treatment of acute flu, ravensara is best taken internally 1 drop every 2 hours for acute flu) and/or applied externally'. For associated breathing conditions, and other chronic respiratory discharge associated with viral infection, add a few drops of Ravensara to a steaming bowl of water and inhale deeply.

Ravensara oil is recommended in almost every aromatherapy text for Herpes Zoster, i.e. 'Shingles' - in a blend with Tamanu oil. Mix in a 50/50 ratio and apply regularly to the outbreak - terrific results are noted with this combination. Please email us for the availability of Tamanu nut oil.
