All Ananda's pure essential oils are of therapeutic quality, the highest grade aromatherapy oils available. They are produced to the utmost standards to ensure all chemical constituents stay intact from plant to bottle - read about our rigorous selection process here. These are pure essential oils as they contain no adulterants in any way. The oils are full-strength and should be used with care! Most should be diluted in a carrier oil before topical application. All can be used in an aromatherapy diffuser directly from the bottle, but again, start slowly for the most enjoyable experience. Matricaria chamomilla from Hungary - Steam distilled, natural source - from the flowers.

• Therapeutic grade • Middle note • Rich, warm, herbaceous, slightly sweet.
• Aromatherapy use: Deep blue in color, this oil has strong anti-inflammatory action with excellent healing properties for damaged and irritated skin. Also a calming agent, can be helpful for headaches, pms, and liver damage. This source has tested with high levels of alpha-bisabolol and chamazulene.

Anthemis nobilis from France - Steam distilled, natural source - from the flowers.

• Therapeutic grade • Middle note • Fresh, warm, slightly fruity and sweet.
• Aromatherapy use: Wow, this is a very nice Roman Chamomile. One of the premier oils for soothing and calming, very gentle and used commonly with children. Apply topically 'neat', diluted in a carrier, or diffuse. Also good for solar-plexus / stomach tension, and helpful with irritated skin.

Cinnamon Bark Oil, Natural Source

Cinnamomum zeylanicum from Sri Lanka - steam distilled - from the bark.

• Therapeutic grade • Middle note • Spicy and warm aroma.
• Aromatherapy use: The scent of freshly ground sweet cinnamon, this, along with Patchouli, is considered an 'oil of abundance'. It is strongly antiviral and antimicrobial, though because of it's intensity, only minute quantities are needed. Not to be applied directly to the skin.

• Therapeutic grade • Top note • Fresh, bright lemon-like aroma.
• Aromatherapy use: Traditionally used in blends as a mosquito repellent. The aroma is uplifting and used as an antidepressant; also has been used to treat arthritis, infections, fever, colds, flu, oily skin and hair, and migraine headaches; it is said to have skin-softening qualities. The is the Java variety, higher in Citronellol and Citronellal than the Ceylon/winteranus variety.

Eugenia caryophyllata from India - CO2 extracted extract - from the fruit.

• Aromatherapy use: Calming, soothing action on the mind, but with with an elevating aspect. Cypress is used in the Tibetan culture as a purification incense. • Aromatherapy use: Blue Gum Eucalyptus is the most well-known of all the many species of Eucalyptus essential oils available, used for its anti-infectious and wound healing properties. Jean Valnet, MD, reported that 70% of airborne staph bacteria were killed when a 2% emulsion of Eucalyptus oil was used as a spray. Blue Gum Eucalyptus is useful for a wide range of respiratory, muscular, and skin ailments.

Eucalyptus dives from Australia - steam distilled, natural source - from the leaves.

• Therapeutic grade • Top note • Fresh, camphorus, slightly minty and cooling aroma.
• Aromatherapy use: Eucalyptus Dives has a slightly minty aroma and is excellent when inhaled for sinus and bronchial conditions. It is also helpful for vaginal infections. Do not use if pregnant.

Eucalyptus Oil, Radiata (Narrow Leaf), Organic

Eucalyptus radiata from Australia - steam distilled, organic - from the leaves.

• Therapeutic grade • Top note • Fresh, mildly camphorus, stimulating and cooling aroma.
• Aromatherapy use: Narrow Leaf essential oil has a more pleasing aroma than the more common Blue Gum Eucalyptus. Due to its pleasant smell and its valuable chemical constituents, this has been called an 'Aromatherapists designer oil'. Although it has strong antiviral properties, it is also gentler than Eucalyptus globulus, and therefore useful in aromatherapy preparations for children and the elderly.
