Researchers compared Frankincense (Boswellia carterii) and Sandalwood (Santalum album) essential oils in cultured human bladder cancer cells. Both oils reduced cellular viability, but appeared to do so through different biological mechanisms. The study highlights why understanding how a material works may be as important as understanding the outcome itself.
