Helichrysum splendidum (Thunb.) Less. (African helichrysum species)

Helichrysum splendidum (Thunb.) Less.

Because of the high levels of monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes, this oil is likely to have similar effects to Helichrysum odoratissimum and Helichrysum gymnocephalum, although research into this particular oil is lacking. Long used in African traditional medicine, the leaves of Helichrysum splendidum are used to induce sweating by boiling the water and inhaling the steam produced.
