Soothing Skin Extra™

Calming Body Oil for Dry, Sensitive & Irritated Skin

Dry, itchy skin is rarely just about dryness.

It can flare with weather, washing, friction, chlorine, scratching, eczema, psoriasis, or simply skin that has become more reactive over time.

Soothing Skin Extra™ brings Helichrysum, German Blue Chamomile, and Lavender into a ready-to-use blend with Kukui and Tamanu for regular care of dry, sensitive, irritated skin.

It is intended as conditioning care for intact skin that is dry, itchy, irritated, or prone to recurring eczema or psoriasis — not as a treatment for the underlying condition.

Formulation Logic

RESEARCH-FORMULATED™ · Formulation Logic, Applied.

German Blue Chamomile and Lavender are the two most studied of the three for dry, inflamed skin.

Helichrysum italicum has long been one of Ananda's most valued oils for skin. German Blue Chamomile is denser and more concentrated, so only a small amount is needed. Lavender rounds the stronger herbal edges of both.

The carrier oils do much of the work here. Kukui gives the blend softness and slip; Tamanu brings greater body.

The essential oils are kept at a low dilution so they support the carriers rather than dominate them, for repeated daily use on dry, easily unsettled skin.

Applications

  • Apply a small amount to clean, intact skin wherever additional softness and comfort are wanted: hands, elbows, lower legs, recurring dry patches.
  • Warm the oil between the fingertips, then press or smooth it gently over the area and allow it to absorb. Leave it on.
  • A little in the morning and again in the evening, or as needed.
  • For skin that remains very dry, use a small amount regularly rather than applying a heavy layer at once.

Questions & Answers

Before you buy

QWhat can I use for skin that stays dry, itchy and easily irritated?

Soothing Skin Extra™ was made for exactly that kind of recurring skin discomfort: intact skin that feels dry, tight, itchy, rough, or easily irritated.

QCan I use Soothing Skin Extra™ after swimming, frequent washing, or other things that leave my skin dry and tight?

Yes. These are practical situations in which the oil fits well.

Repeated washing, pool exposure, dry weather, and other environmental stresses can leave the skin feeling stripped, tight, or irritated. Soothing Skin Extra™ can be applied to clean, intact skin afterward as a leave-on conditioning oil.

QCan I use Soothing Skin Extra™ on eczema or psoriasis?

It may be useful as conditioning care for intact, dry, irritated skin associated with eczema or psoriasis, but the finished formula has not been clinically tested for either condition.

The ingredient research is why these materials were chosen. German Chamomile and Lavender eased dermatitis-like changes in animal studies, and Kukui oil was well tolerated in a small human psoriasis trial. Use only on intact skin, patch test first, and avoid broken, blistered, or actively inflamed areas.

Feel & Finish

Rich and deeply softening, without the weight of a salve. It leaves dry skin supple.

Lavender appears first, soft and familiar, followed by the warmer herbal body of German Blue Chamomile and the honeyed-green character of Helichrysum. Tamanu adds an earthy, nut-like undertone. Distinctly botanical, not perfumed.

The oil carries a faint blue-green tint from the German Chamomile and may temporarily tint very pale skin. Let it absorb before contact with pale clothing or bed linens.

The Formula

Carrier base: Organic Tamanu and Kukui oils

Active & aromatic formulation: Bulgarian Helichrysum, German Chamomile, and Lavender essential oils

Concentration: 2.5% in the finished formula.

Notes & Cautions

  • For external use only. Apply only to intact skin. Do not use on open wounds, broken or blistered skin. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.
  • German Chamomile and Helichrysum are members of the Asteraceae family. Do not use if you have a known sensitivity to chamomile, daisies, ragweed, marigold, or related plants.
  • The Kukui and Tamanu base are tree-nut-derived oils; those with tree-nut allergy should avoid use.
  • Patch test before first use, particularly on sensitive or reactive skin, and discontinue if redness, itching, burning, or other irritation develops.
  • Safety of the finished formula during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and use in children has not been established. Consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use in these groups.
  • For a persistent, severe, or worsening skin condition, seek appropriate medical assessment.
