Overview
Palo Santo cannot be harvested. The tree has to fall first — naturally, on its own timeline — and then rest in the forest for years before the heartwood develops the aromatic depth this oil is known for. The tree decides when it's ready. That is not a marketing point. That is how the chemistry works.
What arrives in this bottle reflects exactly that patience. Steam distilled from naturally fallen, mature Ecuadorian heartwood, sourced through ethical wildcrafting, and held in reserve since 2021.
There are four exclusive oils in this reserve. This is one of them. When they are gone, the conditions that produced them cannot be replicated.
Palo Santo — translated as "holy wood" — has a long history of ceremonial and aromatic use in South America. It belongs to the same botanical family as Frankincense and Myrrh. In essential oil form it offers a composed, balsamic-wood profile valued for grounding presence and aromatic clarity rather than intensity.
About This Oil
Bursera graveolens produces heartwood rich in limonene — but unlike sharper citrus oils that share this constituent, Palo Santo expresses it through a warm, rounded, and woody matrix. The difference is the tree, the conditions, and the time.
Professionally, Palo Santo is often chosen for aromatic applications supporting:
- Settling and grounding during periods of mental overactivity
- Emotional steadiness and transitional rituals
- Clearing, clarifying aromatic environments without sharpness
Commonly used in personal aromatics, diffuser blends, and professional formulations where composure, depth, and gentle presence are preferred over stimulation.
Reserve Standard
Certain essential oils benefit from time held under controlled conditions. This Palo Santo was acquired and held under controlled estate conditions since 2021 — allowing natural integration without intervention. No proprietary aging process was applied. The oil is offered on the basis of sourcing integrity, ethical harvest standards, and the aromatic evidence it presents plainly on evaluation.
Each reserve oil is drawn from a finite lot.
Aromatic Profile
Balsamic, softly resinous, and deeply woody.
