Sun Radiance™ was developed around that reality.
Sea Buckthorn Pulp, Rosehip, and Carrot Root CO₂ extracts give the formula a concentrated lipid and antioxidant profile, carried in five botanical oils selected for daily facial use. Sea Buckthorn is particularly important here: its pulp oil has been studied for the way it interacts with several cellular responses that follow UVB exposure.
Eric R. Cêch formulated Sun Radiance™ as a daily conditioning oil for skin that has been out in the world — not as sun protection, but as care for the skin on the other side of exposure.
Overview
Sun Radiance™ is the oil we reach for when the skin has been out in the world.
Rather than relying on a single botanical oil, Sun Radiance™ combines concentrated Rosehip, Carrot Root, and Sea Buckthorn extracts with a five-oil facial base. The result is a light daily oil composed for conditioning, antioxidant support, and skin regularly exposed to the outside world.
The ingredients are selected for their antioxidant content and their affinity with facial skin. It can be used regularly on its own or layered into an existing skincare routine.
This is a cosmetic facial oil, not a sunscreen.
Questions & Answers
Why choose Sun Radiance™ over plain rosehip or sea buckthorn oil?
Rosehip CO₂, Carrot Root CO₂, and Sea Buckthorn Pulp CO₂ each contribute a different lipid-soluble fraction to the formula, while argan, jojoba, raspberry seed, rosehip seed, and pomegranate provide the broader carrier architecture.
The result is a composed facial oil rather than a single raw material: more varied in constituent profile, moderated in colour and texture, and designed for repeated everyday use.
Will the sea buckthorn and carrot root turn my skin orange or stain clothing?
These naturally pigmented extracts give Sun Radiance™ its characteristic colour, but they are dispersed through the full carrier base rather than applied neat. Used sparingly, the oil settles into the skin without leaving an obvious orange cast.
Because the pigments are real botanical material, however, allow the oil to absorb before contact with pale collars, towels, or pillowcases.
Will it feel greasy or interfere with moisturizer, makeup, or sunscreen?
Not when used sparingly. Sun Radiance™ is concentrated, and a few drops are enough.
Press a small amount onto slightly damp skin and allow it to settle before applying makeup or sunscreen. Use less in humid weather or on combination skin. In an evening routine, it can be used as the final conditioning layer.
Is Sun Radiance™ a sunscreen, or a substitute for one?
No. Sun Radiance™ has no SPF and does not protect the skin from ultraviolet exposure. Use it alongside, never instead of, appropriate sun protection.
Its role begins on the other side of exposure.
UV light can trigger oxidative stress, inflammation, and collagen-degrading activity in the skin. Sea Buckthorn Pulp CO₂ — one of the key materials in Sun Radiance™ — was selected in part because sea buckthorn pulp oil has been studied for its ability to moderate several of those responses after UVB exposure.
Sun Radiance™ does not block the sun. It is formulated to support and condition skin exposed to it.
The Formula
Sun Radiance™ is a multi-lipid composition: several concentrated CO₂ extracts carried in a base of lighter facial oils, each contributing a different part of the antioxidant and skin-conditioning profile.
Rosehip CO₂ and Carrot Root CO₂ bring carotenoid-rich, deeply coloured extracts long valued in facial care. Sea Buckthorn CO₂ adds its distinctive palmitoleic-rich pulp profile and a further carotenoid fraction. Rosemary Antioxidant helps protect the lipid base against oxidation, and Sandalwood contributes a soft, woody-balsamic finish that settles the aroma.
The carrier base — argan, jojoba, raspberry seed, rosehip seed, and pomegranate — was chosen for texture, absorption, and its own fatty-acid and antioxidant contribution, giving the finished oil a light, conditioning feel rather than a heavy one.

Each CO₂ extract in Sun Radiance™ was selected for a different material contribution. The formula does not block exposure; it was built around materials selected, in part, for what research shows about the skin's response after exposure.
Rosehip CO₂ supplies a fatty-acid-rich fraction accompanied by naturally occurring carotenoids, tocopherols, and phytosterols. Carrot Root CO₂ adds a concentrated carotenoid-bearing, oil-soluble botanical fraction.
Sea Buckthorn Pulp CO₂ changes the lipid architecture more substantially. Its pulp oil is naturally rich in palmitoleic acid alongside carotenoids and other lipid-soluble constituents. Research on sea buckthorn pulp oil has also examined this material in the specific context of UVB stress: in human dermal fibroblasts, the oil and its palmitoleic-acid fraction helped preserve cell viability and collagen while moderating pathways involved in collagen degradation and inflammatory stress.
Rosemary Antioxidant CO₂ serves another purpose: its carnosic acid and carnosol fraction helps protect the unsaturated botanical oils within the formulation from oxidation. The five carrier oils then distribute those concentrated materials through a broader lipid base, contributing their own fatty-acid profiles while determining how the finished formula spreads, settles, and wears on facial skin.
Aromatic Profile
Mild, soft, and understated.
The coloured botanical extracts give the oil a faint earthy warmth, while Sandalwood and German Chamomile sit quietly underneath.
The aroma remains close to the skin and is easily worn beneath other preparations.
How We Use It
Apply a small amount to clean facial skin as part of a daily conditioning routine, including before or after time outdoors.
It layers easily with other skincare and can be worn beneath or over another facial oil or moisturiser. A little is enough: the botanical extracts are concentrated and deeply coloured, and a light application settles cleanly.
Because the carotenoid-bearing extracts are richly pigmented, very pale skin may look faintly flushed for a few minutes during absorption.
Allow the oil to absorb well before dressing or going to bed. The concentrated botanical pigments can mark pale fabrics.

- This is a cosmetic facial oil, not a sunscreen. It is not an SPF product and must not be relied upon for protection from ultraviolet exposure.
- Patch test before first use, particularly on sensitive or reactive skin. Discontinue use if redness, itching, burning, or other irritation develops.
- The richly pigmented extracts may temporarily tint very pale skin and may stain pale fabric.
- Safety of the finished formula during pregnancy, breastfeeding, and use in children has not been established. Consult a qualified healthcare practitioner before use in these groups.
- Store tightly closed, away from heat and direct light.

Lineage Note
Sun Radiance™ was developed on a specific idea from Eric R. Cêch: that much of the skin's stress from daily light exposure begins as an oxidative cascade, and that a formula rich in antioxidant botanical oils could support the skin against it. He built the blend around oils and carriers selected for their antioxidant capacity, and used it himself as a daily conditioning oil.

In UVB-exposed normal human dermal fibroblasts, sea buckthorn pulp oil significantly reduced cell toxicity and collagen degradation. The researchers further identified palmitoleic acid, a major fatty acid of sea buckthorn pulp oil, as an active contributor: it helped maintain cell viability and collagen levels while suppressing MMP-1 expression and moderating p38, JNK, and NF-κB signaling associated with cellular stress and inflammation. This study is particularly relevant to Sun Radiance™ because the formula uses Sea Buckthorn Pulp CO₂ rather than seed oil. It remains laboratory research on an individual material, however; it does not establish SPF or demonstrate that Sun Radiance™ prevents ultraviolet exposure.
